C1–C7 · Company

A dedicated Alaska operation, built inside a national distributor.

How the division fits into Bartow Associates, and what it's responsible for.

Bartow Associates, Inc. (BAI) distributes orthopedic and spinal products on a wholesale basis to hospitals, surgery centers, and physician practices. The Alaska division operates as a dedicated regional unit within that structure — sourcing from established manufacturers and carrying inventory close to the facilities that depend on it.

Alaska's hospital network is spread across a landmass with limited road access. A standard regional distribution model doesn't hold up here: cases get rescheduled, weather closes runways, and a single missed shipment can mean a delayed surgery. The division exists to remove that risk from the supply side of the equation.

Staff in Anchorage manage purchasing, inventory, and case-ready kitting; field representatives work directly with OR staff and materials managers to plan around known and urgent case volume alike.

L1–L5 · Alaska Network

Inventory staged for a state where distance is the default.

How product moves from the Anchorage hub to facilities statewide.

Most distributors plan around highway routes and overnight ground carriers. Alaska doesn't offer either at scale — many facilities are reachable only by air, and weather can close that option without warning.

The division holds working inventory at its Anchorage warehouse and pre-positions high-turn implants and spinal hardware with facilities in Fairbanks and Juneau ahead of scheduled case volume. Field reps coordinate directly with materials management on consignment levels, and urgent trauma cases are supported with same-day air courier from the Anchorage hub where flight conditions allow.
