SAFETY ISSUES

SPEED A major concern is excess speed along Lakeridge and Sunnycrest A DOT speed measure on Lakeridge in early May is summarized in the chart below. Individual data points show that most drivers are somewhere in the range of the speed limit. The is slightly biased to the low side because drivers turning onto or coming from Oakdale are only 20 feet from the measuring strips and would not have a noticeable velocity. The concern is speed. The table below shows the number of people ten(10) miles per hour or more above the speed limit by speed. It would seem people over twice the speed limit should not be driving. Stop Signs are to determine right-of-way and not a speed control device. Speed bumps reduce response time for the fire department and other emergency vehicles
