Ider United Methodist Church was founded in 1954. The town of Ider is in
the Northeast corner of Alabama just a few miles from the Tenneessee and
Georgia borders. Ider is a friendly small town that has begun growing as
families move from Chattanooga southward in search of more comfortable
living conditions.
Our pastor, Robert A. Williams, has lived in many places in the U.S. and
abroad. This is his first church as pastor and is delighted to be here.
He invites everyone interested in finding a friendly, spirit filled church
to come and visit.
We are working hard to build a family of believers who wish to explore and
question. We are focused on service and learning. The next few months
will be bringing some new and exciting projects.
Ider is part of a family of churches that comprise the Upper Sand Mountain
Parish. USMP has 10 churches working together in the Sand Mountain
communities.
We operate thrift shops, a garden and orchard, have a
cannery, and offer various services to our constituents.
